'THE CENTENNIAL QUILT PROJECT'
Our first major project was to design and make a quilt to celebrate the upcoming centenary of Lions Clubs International in 2017.
The Project Brief relating to this quilt was presented at a meeting of the Centennial Action Committee in 2014. To our delight, it was accepted as part of the program for the 2017 Lions Clubs International Convention in Chicago.
The design of the quilt is the creation of Lion Maree Marr- a charter member of our group. Maree has researched Lions history and masterfully drawn the beautiful and original 'tree of life' featuring a global selection of trees, plants and flowers representing the geographical areas where service is given by Lions all over the world.
There is a fascinating story about this wonderful quilt...to be launched at the Lions 64th MD201 Convention in Echuca..12 -16 May 2016.
We hope to raise funds, through donations, that will go to the Museum Trust Fund and also to our LCIF Project.
